STMicroelectronics EVLSTRNG Evaluation Boards

STMicroelectronics EVLSTNRG Evaluation Boards are intended for evaluating the STNRG388A digital controller in off-line power conversion applications like EV battery chargers, uninterruptible power supplies, and digital industrial power supplies. Thanks to the digital core of the STMicroelectronics STNRG388A, it is also possible to monitor, control and debug the EVLSTNRG boards via a convenient HyperTerminal control.

EVLSTRNG-1KW Board

The EVLSTRNG-1KW Evaluation Board evaluates the STNRG388A digital controller in offline power conversions. The board has an architecture based on a multiphase interleaved DC/DC converter for applications like EV battery chargers, UPS and industrial power supplies. The EVLSTRNG-1KW uses half bridge Single Active Bridge (SAB) topology and supports more than 1000W of power. This topology balances power through 3 parallel stages and delivers high efficiency by enabling one, two or three stages depending on the load. The STNRG388A power conversion dedicated peripherals (SMEDs) drive interleaved power stages and guarantee correct phase realignment during stage activation and deactivation. A digital core allows for monitoring, controlling and debugging the EVLSTRNG-1KW board via a convenient HyperTerminal control. 

EVLSTNRG-170W Board

STMicroelectronics EVLSTNRG-170W Evaluation Board evaluates the STNRG388A digital controller in off-line power conversions. A PFC stage followed by a resonant LLC stage supports up to 170W for applications like digital industrial power supplies. The application supports multiple output rails: a high power 24V (6A) channel for the main application, 1 auxiliary 12V (2A) for the controller and an always-on 5V (2A) standby. The STNRG388A power conversion dedicated peripherals (SMEDs) drive the PFC in transition mode (DCM-CCM boundary) while the resonant LLC is controlled with timeshift control (TSC). The STNRG388A manages two conversion stages and guarantees protections required by the application while implementing advanced anticapacitive protection. A digital core allows for monitoring, controlling and debugging the EVLSTNRG-170W board via a convenient HyperTerminal control.
