The CLB comprises 32 individual logic elements. Each logic element’s Lookup Table (LUT)-based design offers extensive customization options, while CPU-independent operation improves response time and power consumption. The CLB supplies a mode in which a predefined configuration is automatically loaded upon power-up or reset, while the CPU remains in a non‑executing state.

The Microchip PIC16F13254/55/74/75 28/40-Pin Microcontrollers also provide Enhanced Code Protection features that enhance the security and protection of user firmware and data. These features include the ability to disable the programming and debugging interface to allow one-time device programming and to effectively block any unauthorized attempts to communicate with the device via the In-Circuit Serial Programming™ (ICSP™) interface.

The MCUs are available in a variety of packages ranging from 8-pins to 40-pins and offer up to 28KB of Program Flash Memory, up to 2KB of RAM, and 256 bytes of Data Flash Memory (EEPROM). Additional features include a 10-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter with Computation (ADCC) capable of up to 200ksps; a 10-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC); two fast Comparators (50ns response time); and a collection of other peripherals for timing control and serial communications with SMBus compatibility, making the devices ideal for various applications such as real-time control, digital sensor nodes, and market segments such as industrial and automotive.
