Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MPM54524 16V Quad 5A Output Power Modules with an I2C interface offer a complete power solution with built-in turn-on/-off sequencing control, configurable soft start (SS), compensation, and various protection thresholds. Constant-on-time (COT) control provides an ultra-fast transient response. The output voltage (VOUTx) (where x = A, B, C, or D) is adjustable via the I2C bus or preset via the multiple-time programmable (MTP) memory. The power-on/-off sequence is configurable via the MTP or can be controlled via the I2C.The MPS MPM54524 offers configurable active voltage positioning (AVP), which generates a droop voltage (VDROOP). This allows four channels to operate in parallel with passive current balancing. In addition, buck regulators A (buck A) and B (buck B) can operate in parallel for up to 10A in interleaving mode, enabling active current balancing. Full protection features include under-voltage lockout (UVLO), over-current protection (OCP), over-voltage protection (OVP), under-voltage protection (UVP), and thermal shutdown.
The MPM54524 requires a minimal number of external components and is available in a compact ECLGA-51 (8mm x 8mm x 2.9mm) package.
