Baseband Mode
When in baseband mode, AD9161/AD9162/AD9163/AD9164 DACs support DOCSIS 3.1 cable infrastructure compliance. The AD9161/AD9162 DACs use a minimum of two carriers to operate across a full 1.794GHz spectrum. The AD9163/AD9164 DACs use a minimum of one carrier to operate up to a 1GHz (AD9163) or 1.791GHz (AD9164) signal bandwidth. A 2x Interpolator filter (FIR85) allows the AD9161/AD9162/AD9163 DACs to operate at lower data rates and converter clocking. This reduces the overall system power and eases the filtering requirements.

Mix-Mode 
When in mix-mode, the AD9161/AD9162/AD9163/AD9164 DACs maintain an exceptional dynamic range and can reconstruct RF carriers in the 2nd and 3rd Nyquist zones up to 7.5GHz. Designers can program the output current from 8mA to 40mA.

Data Interface
The AD9161/AD9162 data interface features up to eight programmable JESD204B SERDES lanes for maximum design flexibility. The device's serial peripheral interface (SPI) configures the AD9161/AD9162/AD9163/AD9164 DACs and monitors the status of all registers.
