Infineon Technologies Switch Mode Power Supplies - Medium Power Topology

Infineon Technologies SMPS Medium Power Topology is available in two different topologies Single Forward Transistor (SFT) or LLC. SFT is commonly used for off-line supplies in the power range below 200W. Its simplicity and low component count makes it a viable alternative to the Flyback, when galvanic isolation and/or voltage step-up/-down is required. SFT topology is generally a good choice when high output current is required. LLC Topology has been used sparingly in high-end applications that require the very highest efficiency possible. With the industry demanding increased efficiency in more mainstream products the LLC topology is proliferating throughout product categories and power levels.

Accelerate power supply designs by using Active Design files which simplify the calculations required for determining power losses, power device selection, and passive components. These working documents are built and are executable in MathCad Express and mirror the content of the Design Notes, which describe the fundamentals of each topology. If MathCad is installed on a machine simply open the .mcdx files where user input areas are designated by green and orange fields for system requirements and component specifics.
