Mouser Electronics powers IIT Bombay racing Formula student race car

Mouser Electronics is proud to announce that it is one of the significant sponsors of IIT Bombay racing, a multidisciplinary student team from IIT Bombay. A Team of 70 budding engineers who aspire to develop an electric race car.

Mouser Electronics is working with universities that participate in Formula Student, a global automotive engineering competition. Mouser Electronics will support the IIT Bombay Racing team for the design and development of the Electric vehicle unit. IIT Bombay Racing is one of the renowned team from India, made its debut at Formula Student way back 2008. Formula Student UK is Europe's biggest student based motorsport event, held at the Silverstone Circuit in the UK.

The event is run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers which almost attracts 100 teams plus representing various universities from different parts of the world. The Team secured their all-time best ranking of 30 out of 118 participating teams. IIT Bombay racing team secured the third position in electric car space among the participated teams. Their current EVoK car has been winning the Formula Student Award by IMechE for being the best non-UK team for the past 5 years.

Students at IIT Bombay racing team, work on all aspects of the development of an Electric Vehicle. The team rigorously works on Power train, Battery Management, Data acquisition, and Electronic differential model for improving vehicle performance. IIT Bombay Racing will be competing for the 5th consecutive year at Formula Student UK, Mouser supports IIT Bombay Racing in building its prototype by providing electronic components that will help them in designing a better racecar. The team uses components such as Automotive Connectors, Pressure Sensors, and Inductors in their Electric Car Design.
