These connector terminals use selective annealing to keep the barrel soft enough to crimp and form around the wire, while the cold-form process during manufacturing keeps the tongue strong. The long barrel design offers several benefits, such as lowering electrical resistance, preventing wire pullout, and eliminating missed crimps during installation. The elongated barrel also provides more surface area to hold the insulator tighter to the barrel, keeping it on during installation. The ring tongue terminals feature an anti-rotational tongue to keep the terminal secure in the terminal block, preventing terminal shorting.
